Author's Biography
John Keats was born on October the 31st in 1795. He was the
first child bore by Thomas and Frances Jennings Keats. He first attended the Clarke school in Enlgand, where he first became
interested in literature. He studied medicine and passed the examinations, but he never practiced because he went into poetry
instead.Among his great poems there are To Autumn, Ode on a Grecian Urn, La Belle Dame Sans Merci among others.
He was an English poet of the romantic period. His first poems
came in a volume entitiled Poems in 1817, dedicated to his friend Leigh Hunt who had a great influence on him. His
second volume was entitled Endymion. This second volume was severely criticized and a a result of this this ruined
his reputation. He died on February the 23rd in 1821. In his short life he influenced many English poets, and his vivid imagery
and sensual style later had an impact on the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of painters that included Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
